An incentive run by MP Graham Stuart to install defibrillators in every community has received national recognition.

Mr Stuart’s CADEY campaign has already helped save lives locally. Following a meeting with top brass at the NHS they are not looking to mirror his campaign nationally.

Commenting on his meeting, Mr Stuart said;

“I’m so pleased that the hard work undertaken by local emergency services, fundraisers and parish councils to get these life-saving devices into our communities is being recognised by NHS Providers.”

“By the community working together we can make a real impact here in Beverley and Holderness. Also, there is no doubt this model could be copied across the country.”

“I’m looking forward to continuing the conversation with local parish councils who have yet to install defibrillators. This is we can achieve our goal of universal access.”

Mr Stuart’s meeting was with Miriam Deakin. She is the Director of Policy and Strategy at NHS Providers.

It was at this meeting he shared details about CADEY campaign while discussing how other NHS providers could follow his lead.

CADEY Campaign Has Helped Saved Lives

Ms Deakin was certainly impressed with the MPs CADEY campaign, she said;

“We’ve been really impressed by the work of Graham and the community. We can see the value of Beverley and Holderness being a template for others.”

“We are eager to learn what works well and look forward to sharing the approach with other NHS trusts.”

Mr Stuart has been a keen supporter of defibrillators backing a number of groups and individuals in getting them installed.

He has also helped local charities at fundraising events to ensure as many of his constituents can access the life-saving equipment.

Resident Willy McCutcheon was one of the people whose life was saved by being able to access to a defibrillator. As a result, he has been tirelessly fundraising to help get more of them installed.
