Woodmansey Primary School PTFA has been awarded £2,000 by the Tesco incentive Bags of Help.

The school were one of the winners for the competition held at Tesco store on Morton Lane for the months of January to February.

Their ‘Great Outdoor Project’ won the support of customers who use the supermarket. As a result of their votes, the school was handed some cash to help fund their idea.

Sarah Grainger, Acting Head of School explained more about the project. She also expressed her gratitude at the support shown, she said;

“All the Staff and pupils at Woodmansey CE Primary School were delighted when they found out we were being awarded £2000.”

“The PTFA do an incredible amount for the school and are such a huge part of the Woodmansey family, so it’s a huge thanks to them for their role in this award.”

“Thanks must also go to the customers at Tesco who were generous enough to think our cause a worthy one.”

“We are using the money to improve our outdoor areas around the school. This will include an allotment with a reflection area and additional outdoor learning equipment.”

“Thank you so much to everyone who has been involved in this project. It really will make a huge difference to the children and how they use our outdoor provision.”

Woodmansey Primary School One Of Many To Benefit From Tesco Incentive

In all 46 projects voted on in Tesco’s Beverley store have received over £152,000 from Bags of Help since 2016. 

Projects to receive funding include the East Yorkshire Foodbank. They received £4,000 to help fight the increasing issue of food poverty in the area.

Tesco’s Bags of Help scheme is permanently open for applications. Local schools, sports clubs, charities and community groups are being urged to apply.
