Beverley ARLFC will embark upon the first of this season’s 2 trips to Cumbria this Saturday.
This a long trio North for Beverley as they take on bottom of the table Askam at Fallowfield Park.
The Furness outfit has managed just one victory from nine starts so Beverley will undoubtedly be favourites. It is also a good chance for Beverley to claim their first away win of the season.
Currently Beverley in 7th place in the National Conference League just ahead of local rivals Hull Dockers by virtue of superior points difference.
Scott Taylor has been pleased with the last two performances. Beverley have won their last two games and confidence will certainly be high going into this crucial match.
Taylor is also pleased with the defensive improvements his team has shown in recent weeks.
In the last two games, Beverley has conceded just 16 points making which has helped them secure championship points.
Previously Beverley had been leaking far too many points. Games against Clock Face, Wigan St Judes and West Bowling have seen their opponents pass the 40 point mark.
With Taylor away with Hull FC it will be up to his assistant Tony Spence to take charge of this tricky encounter.
Ryan Watkin and Jordan Precious will be welcomed back to the squad. While Josh Poskitt and Lee Stevens will not make the trip. There are also doubts over Tom Moor being available.
