Fir Tree Nursery School Praised By MP After Outstanding Ofsted Result

MP Graham Stuart has praised Fir Tree Nursery School after they were awarded an Outstanding by Ofsted.

The MP for Beverley and Holderness says the news of their achievement is fantastic for the area. He also says it is clear children who attend are receiving the best care.

Fir Tree Nursery School are located on Hull Bridge Road. Mr Stuart along with local Councillor Pauline Greenwood visited the school to the work first hand.

Following his visit the MP released a statement in which he said;

“It’s fantastic that Beverley & Holderness is adding another outstanding nursery to its ranks.”

“The education reforms introduced by this Government, and the hard work of teachers and staff, are paying off with the number of children in Beverley & Holderness now attending outstanding nurseries having almost doubled since 2015.”

“You can tell as soon as you walk in the nursery that Fir Tree children are receiving the best care and education possible. As the report said, the Manager and team are inspirational. They have a real thirst to expand their skills and knowledge so they can better serve their children.”

Fir Tree Nursery School Teaches Children To Look Out For Others

“Not only are these children receiving an outstanding education, but they are learning about community service and looking after those less fortunate than themselves. The nursery recently raised over £1,000 so one of the children could have surgery to help her walk independently.”

“ During the Christmas term, the children made artwork to decorate the walls of Hull Royal’s Children’s wards,”

Ofsted earlier this year rated the popular nursery as outstanding across all criteria, up from good in 2014.

 Alison Piper, Manager of Fir Tree Nursery said;

“Graham is a big supporter of the work we do, and he knows education is the key to the future. It’s great Graham could come and acknowledge the great work we do.”

Recently Manor Road Nursery School in Beverley also received an Outstanding from Ofsted. Their fantastic result also resulted in MP paying the pre-school a visit.
