Get Your Skates On For Christmas Fun At Flemingate

Is there anything more festive than wrapping up warm and gliding around an outdoor skating rink at Christmas time?

Now that experience can be enjoyed for the first time at Beverley’s Flemingate centre, which is hosting an eco-friendly skating rink for the season of goodwill.

Surrounded by Flemingate’s sparkling Christmas lights, the rink will be open from Saturday, November 30, to Sunday, January 5, with a skating session costing just £5 for 45 minutes, including skate hire.

The 10m x 10m rink is synthetic, meaning skaters can enjoy all the benefits of ice skating but without a cold, wet and slushy surface.

Jo Bridgeman, Flemingate Marketing and Events Manager, said: “An outdoor skating rink is a first for Flemingate and it will add something very festive to Beverley over the Christmas period.

“The rink is made from an eco-friendly synthetic material which has the look and feel of real ice but doesn’t get all slushy and wet. So using it will be great fun, without the mess!

“Skating is a fun activity that can be enjoyed by the whole family and there’s something very nostalgic and traditional about outdoor skating at this time of year.”

The skating rink will be in the events area in front of East Riding College. Push along skating aids are available for younger visitors and the wearing of warm clothing and gloves is essential.

Flemingate has teamed up with Inflata Nation to offer a great value Skate and Bounce ticket, where visitors can enjoy a whirl on the ice and a session at the inflatable theme park on the same day for just £12.

Home to a host of retailers, Flemingate is the perfect place to indulge in some Christmas shopping while enjoying a bite to eat and drink with friends and family in the many bars, cafes and restaurants.

Visitors can use Flemingate’s 500-space car park for just £1 for three hours.
