Rehearsals are underway at the East Riding Theatre in Beverley, for Laura Turner’s magical stage adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic coming of age novel, Little Women.

Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women continues to inspire audiences through the tale of four young sisters Meg, Jo, Amy and Beth as we follow their adventures through their struggles with family, love, individuality and finding their place in the world as they grow into Little Women.

Jake Smith, who has worked with The National Theatre and as Resident Director at the Almeida and Chichester Festival Theatre returns to East Riding Theatre after directing two years of acclaimed Christmas productions in It’s a Wonderful Life and Goodnight Mister Tom.

Jake said;

“I am delighted to return to ERT to direct Louisa May Alcott’s most popular and enduring novel in a new adaptation by local playwright Laura Turner. Join author-to-be Jo and her sisters Meg, Beth, and Amy as they unite in their devotion to each other and see their struggles in this classic production infused with both heart and song.”

“Our production of Little Women will make you laugh, cry and discover the joy in finding true love and belief in oneself and also how at times having nothing can mean you have everything.”

The eight-strong cast includes Laura Peterson, Laura Mould, Louise Willoughby & Evie Guttridge taking up the roles of the four sisters. Richard Avery, Sara Beharrell, Harrison Rose & Michael Kinsey complete the cast for East Riding Theatre’s sixth Christmas production.
