ArtWaves has unveiled the first wave of workshops for the 2020 festival taking place on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May 2020 with the fringe event being staged Monday 25 to Friday 29 May 2020.
The first wave of bookable workshops are now on sale for the sixth annual visual arts festival with more set to complete the festival line up in the coming months; the full programme will be released in March 2020.
Workshops will span the festival fringe and also across the festival weekend, bringing the return of festival favourites and new additions to the Yorkshire coast.
Renowned artist and festival favourite Charles Evans will be returning over the festival weekend with a relaxed step by step Watercolour workshop, alongside Catherine Inglis, Carol Davidson, John Harrison and sell out artist Robert Dutton.
The 2020 event will also include a selection of new artists including previous exhibition winners and artists working in a wide range of art mediums to cover all interests and skillsets.
Festival Director, Lauren Frost said, “We’re excited to see the return of so many festival favourites this year for our artist workshops and are working to recruit artists across a wide range of artistic palates and styles for our attendees. The workshops form a key part of the overall festival and are always popular with those attending.”
All workshops are limited capacity and are anticipated to once again sell out, attendees are encouraged to buy tickets early to avoid disappointment.
Alex Crutchley, Destinations Facilities Manager said: “The festival is bringing some fantastic opportunities and artists to the East coast for visitors to and residents of Bridlington, through a diverse programme that we will fully unveil next year.”
The bookable workshops form a part of a much larger festival. The annual Open Exhibition is live and open for entries alongside the return of the popular Submerge strand.
