Ergo Business Centre Shaping Up For A Big Year

Since opening its doors on the Bridgehead Business Park, Hessle, in June 2018, the ergo business centre has continued to flourish and 2020 is shaping up to be a big year.

The centre, which is run by East Riding of Yorkshire Council in partnership with the University of Hull’s Aura Innovation Centre, is aimed at the growing renewable energy and environmental technology sectors.

ergo offers modern and versatile grade A office space which is now 79% let. Occupiers benefit from the complimentary facilities of conferencing/meeting rooms and Moe’s Kitchen, the on-site café which is also open to the public.

Recently, new tenants such as Investment Management Energy (UK) Ltd, Mindmap Productions, Businessdaily.com, HI Commercial Ltd, W2E-UK Ltd, Propeller Fuels Ltd, Forster Media Ltd and ScenePro Ltd have made it their base.

The council’s business support team, based at ergo, are available to help regional businesses identify and access supply chain opportunities across a variety of key sector supply chains. They will be hosting a series of free-to-attend business workshops throughout the year which will provide information in specialist areas and sectors.

A new supplier directory has been launched for 2020 as an online central hub for the region’s suppliers, products and services. Registration – which can be found on the website (www.thesupplychainnetwork.co.uk) – is free for businesses to search the directory and also to create their own company profiles.

ergo will co-host (with Aura Innovation Centre) the Offshore Wind Connections 2020 event in May. The annual conference, exhibition and networking event, featuring key offshore wind industry speakers, attracts regional, national and international delegates, and is organised by Team Humber Marine Alliance. The event is on Wednesday, 13 and Thursday, 14 May 2020.

Councillor Jane Evison, the portfolio holder for local economic growth and prosperity at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “This fantastic facility continues to develop and make great strides, and with new tenants helping to achieve what is an impressive tenancy rate we are excited about what lies ahead.

“At ergo, we are pleased to be working in partnership with the companies and organisations that feel at home there, and do outstanding work in many areas and sectors, including in the energy industry.”
