Beverley’s Flemingate shopping centre have commissioned award-winning artist, illustrator and cartoonist Calvin Innes.

He has been tasked to create an incredible winter wonderland scene across one of the centre’s shop windows.

Hull-based Calvin, who is also CEO of marketing agency Drunk Animal Creative Studio, will use only spray-on snow paint and a scraper to design the work of art.

The project will take Calvin several days to complete and stay in place through to early 2021.

Commenting on the project he says he is looking forward to the challenge, he said;

“I’ve been involved in many large-scale art projects. Recently I completed the ‘The Girl’ mural on a building at Hull College as part of community art initiative, The Shorelines Project.”

“When I was approached by the team at Flemingate, the idea of using glass as my canvas presented an exciting challenge.”

“It’s great to be back at Flemingate this Christmas following our involvement as designers of the Stars Wars-themed grotto last year.  I’m really looking forward to creating a piece of art for the people of Beverley to enjoy.”
