Food And Rural Tourism Businesses Invited To Join Virtual Spring Event

The annual East Yorkshire Local Food and Rural Tourism Network Event will take place virtually on Monday, 22 March.

The free event, with a short but packed programme, running from 10am-12noon via Zoom, will this year focus on the resources and opportunities available to work together to help businesses grow during these uncertain times.

The rural business networks, which are facilitated by East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s rural policy and partnerships team, provide an opportunity for local food and drink and rural tourism businesses to share information and ideas, along with working together to promote the stunning scenery and delicious local produce available on the region’s doorstep.

Speakers at this year’s virtual event, which will be opened by the leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Councillor Richard Burton, will cover a range of topics.

These include timely updates for businesses from the network steering group and Visit Hull & East Yorkshire, plus contributions covering how to make the most from promoting all that is great about visiting the local area – from the great outdoors, to local heritage and from nature tourism to local food.

Councillor Burton said: “The council is delighted to support this annual business event as many hospitality and tourism businesses have had an extremely difficult time during the last year and we realise that we are not out of the woods yet.

“However, we hope that this event will be an opportunity for local food and rural tourism businesses to come together and share insights and information that will help them make the most of the opportunities that will present themselves as the country opens up in the months ahead.”
