Outdoor Classes Are Coming To East Riding Leisure

Spring is here, and East Riding Leisure is pleased to announce that, in line with Government guidelines and the roadmap, they are launching an outdoor class programme starting from w/c Monday, 29 March 2021.

From HIIT, BODYCOMBAT to Kettlercise, BODYBALANCE and Zumba, there will be a wide class selection on offer to suit all abilities and fitness levels across their sites, excluding South Holderness and Withernsea.

Bookings can be made two days in advance for East Riding Leisure members, and one day in advance for non-members. The classes on offer and availability will vary from site to site. Spaces will be limited. Classes may be cancelled due to poor weather for safety reasons, but the aim is to continue with classes whenever possible.

Customers should come class-ready and bring their own exercise mat if required. No outdoor classes will take place during the Easter Bank Holidays.

East Riding Leisure indoor facilities will not reopen until Monday, 12 April, in line with the Government roadmap.

Councillor Shaun Horton, the portfolio holder for coastal regeneration and tourism, including leisure and culture, said:

“The launch of these outdoor classes is wonderful news! We know that exercising outdoors reduces the transmission of COVID-19 and that outdoor workouts are in fact more challenging because your body has to work harder with the natural elements, so you burn more calories and improve your balance and core skills.

“Being outdoors provides essential Vitamin D, helping to maintain healthy bones, teeth and muscles, and of course fresh air and natural light are invigorating!”

The outdoor classes must be pre-booked; online booking is from 27 March for members and 28 March for non-members.

Customers can be assured that COVID secure procedures are still in place for the outdoor classes – details can be found at https://eastridingleisure.co.uk/reopening/
