East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS) Ltd is celebrating after being awarded £277,880 in National Lottery funding to support its new Volunteen Voice project, supporting children and young people living in East Riding.
The organisation based in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, will use the cash to develop and deliver a range of exciting activities that will encourage and support children and young people to have a say about things that affect them and issues that are important to them.
ERVAS has been delivering youth volunteering and social action activities since 2010, to encourage, recognise and reward children and young people’s volunteering and social action achievements within the East Yorkshire area.
Volunteen Voice is their latest project, developed and shaped by young people those groups, organisations and services who work with them.
The new funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, which distributes money raised by National Lottery players for good causes and is the largest funder of community activity in the UK, will see a variety of new activities for children and young people to participate in, locally, regionally and nationally.
At the same time, ERVAS will be able to work with their existing partners who provide youth voice opportunities, as well as encourage more communities, groups, and services to involve children and young people in having their say about a wide range of topics.
