Cleaning Without Compromise: Hull-Based Bio-D Launches New Scent For Summer

Hull-based green cleaning company Bio-D is continuing its growth within the ethical cleaning market by adding a new scent to its sanitising hand wash range.

Set to launch this month, a new plum and mulberry scented hand wash has been created following feedback from Bio-D’s market research that showed customers wanted to see more zesty and fruity fragrances.

The company’s geranium scented hand wash has also had an update – adding the citrus flavour of grapefruit to refresh the fan favourite – with the full range, including the lime and aloe vera and the fragrance-free versions, having also benefitted from a reformulation.

Lloyd Atkin, managing director at Bio-D, said: “All of our new products are created from 100% naturally derived ingredients, and come in bottles that are both recyclable and created from post-consumer plastic that may have otherwise ended up in landfill or incineration.”

“We’re looking forward to hearing our customer’s thoughts on our new range of scents and improved formulas.”

Bio-D has invested significantly in new product and packaging development over the past 12 months, which has included a new plastic-free, vegan furniture polish, and additions to its bestselling ethical washing range.

The company has built momentum during the pandemic, with an initial lift in website transactions of 400% between March and May 2020. Bio-D also sold 500% more individual products when compared to 2019 in the same period.

The brand continues to see a steady increase in sales and has built on its loyal customer following through CSR activity and awareness-raising initiatives, which includes sending 3% of sales from its all purpose sanitiser and capped hand wash range to The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.

Bio-D fan and Instagram sensation Stacey Solomon – who often features the brand across social media – has also helped boost brand awareness.

Registered with both The Vegan Society and Cruelty-Free International, Bio-D is continuing to invest in product development and packaging design to enhance its cleaning without compromise credentials.

Bio-D’s ethical cleaning products are available online and in-store at selected independents across the UK. Bio-D is also stocked online at Ocado, and both in-store and online at Robert Dyas.
