Beverley-based sidecar racers of Sam and Adam Christie secured podium finishes in the opening round of the 2021 British Championship.

Oulton Park in Cheshire was the venue for the opening round of the British Championship with two 12 lap races being the focus of the event.

After Qualifying in third position, Team Christie spent the majority of the first race battling for a podium position and managed to make an overtake and make it stick on lap 10 to secure 2nd position.

With a reversed grid for Race 2, the opening lap saw a number of teams fighting to get to the front and the Christie Brothers had to take to the grass to avoid a spinning outfit.

After losing some time and positions they fought back through the field to 3rd and secured another podium finish. Furthermore,  they bettered their personal best lap of the weekend in doing so.

A successful opening round and leaving Oulton Park 2nd in the Championship, next up for the Beverley-based team is Brands Hatch for Round 2 over 23-25 July.
