Graham Johnson is the candidate chosen by the Liberal Democrats to take on the Tories at the Minster South by-election on 22 July.
Graham, an IT specialist and local artist has a strong track record as a volunteer and campaigner in the town.
He is also a member of Toll Gavel Church and has been a volunteer at many local community events and festivals. Graham has also been a campaigner for many local causes, including a Park & Ride in Beverley and affordable housing.
Graham said;
“I am a team player who promises to work hard alongside Beverley’s Lib Dem councillors to get the best for local people.”
“Over the last year – the most difficult year I can remember – the Lib Dems have been there for Beverley residents, keeping in touch, offering help and support to hundreds of vulnerable residents.”
“Liberal Democrat councillors in Beverley are well known for getting things done for their residents and by championing their communities.”
“That’s what local politics is about.; improving people’s lives; and there’s nothing I love more than getting onto the doorsteps, speaking to local residents about the things that matter to them.”
“I have 3 key priorities for people in Minster South if they elect me as their next Town Councillor.”
Graham Johnson Outlines Three Key Goals
1. Better facilities for young people.
2. Protecting Beverley’s green spaces.
3. Fixing Beverley’s parking problems.
Cllr Denis Healy feels this election is a two-horse race, he said;
“Like all elections in Beverley, the by-election on 22 July is a clear choice between the Lib Dems and the Conservatives.”
“Labour are in a distant third place without a single ward councillor in the whole of the East Riding with the Independents even further behind.”
“Voting Labour or Independent will just help the Tories – it’s a two-horse race between Lib Dem and Conservative.”
Voters will go to the polls in Minster South on 22 July – Candidates standing are;
Graham Johnson – Liberal Democrats
Elaine Aird – Conservative
Ron Laden – Independent (Endorsed by Labour)
