The future is bright for Wykeham Mature Plants, one of the North’s leading commercial nurseries, which is celebrating its most successful and busy year to date with a significant increase in sales.
Located just south of Wykeham on the A170 in North Yorkshire, Wykeham Mature Plants grows a huge range of hedging, mature trees, shrubs and screening across 150 acres to help transform gardens and landscapes predominately across the Midlands and North of England.
Adam Smith, General Manager at Wykeham Mature Plants, said:
“It has been a successful 12 months at Wykeham Mature Plants, as more people have been able to spend time transforming their gardens due to increased time spent at home.”
“With our expansion of staff, production area and equipment, we are ready to take on the next year and look forward to helping transform even more gardens and landscapes.”
Grown and cared for by the team of expert horticulturists all year round the business, which is part of the Dawnay Estate, supplies a range of customers from private homeowners to trade customers, including garden designers, stately homes, visitor attractions, businesses and large-scale commercial developments.
In the past year, Wykeham Mature Plants has invested substantially to expand its production area by a further 5 acres to keep up with demand. The successful year has also enabled new investment in new vans and forklifts this year for even better transportation and care when moving around the mature plants.
Successful sales have also meant the recruitment of four more staff members this year to join the current team of expert horticulturalists.
Following last year, which saw a huge increase in home spending by UK consumers, the team anticipate another busy year.
