Barratt Developments Yorkshire East is celebrating the success of its Apprenticeship Scheme as seven new apprentices begin their careers with the housebuilder.
As part of Barratt Developments’ ongoing Apprenticeship Scheme, seven students are able to gain unparalleled experience in the construction industry whilst obtaining the qualifications they need to be successful in their careers.
The seven apprentices join the housebuilder to develop their skills across a number of disciplines including joinery, bricklaying and construction.
Abigail Stephens, 18, will be joining Barratt Developments to gain experience as a joiner. Having previously studied at St. Mary’s in Hull where she did a further education course in Design and Technology and a double in Art. She will be working at Harrier Chase in Brough.
Having previously worked on the housebuilder’s sites as a labourer, David Fitzgerald, 20, will now be completing an apprenticeship with the housebuilder. David, along with Jarrad Benson, will be gaining experience as bricklayers across new sites at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East.
Also benefiting from the Apprenticeship Scheme is Jake Lilly, Riley Wilson and Ashton Webb, all aim to start their careers in joinery with the local housebuilder.
They will be working across the region at the housebuilder’s Lancaster Gardens, Minster View and Fleet Green site in Doncaster, Beverley and Hessle.
Joining Barratt Developments from York High School is Kaytlin Lancaster-Sellers. Kaytlin will be gaining experience with the housebuilder in joinery at The Chocolate Works in York.
