Double Award Shortlisting For Hull Interior Design, Fit-out And Furnishing Firm

Chameleon Business Interiors – the interior design, fit-out and furnishing firm based at Hull’s Humber Quays – has reached the final stages of prestigious industry awards in not one but two competitive categories.

The Mixology North21 Awards will be held in Manchester on 9th December and Chameleon’s 27-strong team will be crossing their fingers for double success.

Shaun Watts, chairman of Chameleon said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have made the final selection for two really significant projects completed in the last 12 months. This is the first time we’ve been shortlisted in the Mixology North Awards, so we’re very excited.

“Our interior design, fit-out and furnishing services on the new University of Hull’s Energy and Environment Institute have been recognised in the Workspace Interiors sub-5,000sqft category. This is a landmark scheme that truly ‘practices what it preaches’, as the building has achieved a SKA Gold rating – which means it’s one of the most sustainable buildings in the UK. Through the use of recycled and reused materials and carefully considered processes, the team were able to achieve an education industry-first and create an eco-building designed for the future.

“We were also shortlisted in the Workplace Interiors 30,000 – 70,000sqft category for our work in designing a new head office for the tech giant Ideagen in Nottingham. The space is split across two floors and includes collaboration spaces, living walls and even its very own onsite coffee lounge.

“The last 18 months have been challenging for businesses across every sector, so I’m incredibly proud of our amazing team for all of their hard work and dedication in not only getting these projects over the line but exceeding expectations and receiving industry recognition.

“The Mixology Awards brings together the best of the best in our industry, so we’re up against some stiff competition and the calibre is as high as ever. But I’m confident that our people-inspired, sustainable and client-focused approach to work puts us in a strong position.”
