East Riding Theatre (ERT) is thrilled to announce that its Spring production will be Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’.
Adapted for the stage by Steven Canny & John Nicholson, this outrageously entertaining version of the classic tale is sure to have you howling with laughter. Running for three weeks between April and May.
A masterpiece of mystery and suspense, ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’ is the most celebrated Sherlock Holmes story of all. When Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson are sent to investigate the suspicious death of Sir Charles Baskerville, the case takes a strange turn. With a giant hound at large, it’s down to the famous detective to solve the mystery and save the Baskerville family heir…
Directed by Marieke Audsley, the creative mind behind the sell-out success ‘Beryl’, which subsequently went on to sell out two shows at the Arcola Theatre in Hackney, London. More recently Audsley directed the world premiere stage adaptation of ‘Frost Hollow Hall’ at ERT last December.
Marieke says of returning to ERT “It’s wonderful to be back at ERT. Canny and Nicholson’s adaptation of Conan Doyle’s classic tale is fantastically entertaining and will be a real pleasure to direct and share with audiences.”
Starring Mariana Barbera, Annie Kirkman and Mark Conway. This cast of three actors will play all 14 different characters in this comic spoof of beastly proportions.
Sue Kirkman, ERT’s lead producer, said, “We’re really looking forward to sharing this production with an audience, but we recognise that not everyone’s comfortable with full capacity audiences. We want everyone to feel confident attending live shows again so we have included 3 reduced capacity performances for this production.”
The Beverley Arms is proud to sponsor The Hound of the Baskervilles.
