The Blue and Golds will commence their 2022 league campaign this Saturday, with a trip to South Leeds to face Hunslet Warriors kicking off at 2.30pm.
What seemed an uncertain situation just before the Christmas break, with the club seeking a new head coach, has seen the club probably enjoy one of the most positive pre-seasons in many a year.
Trevor Penrose and Stu Smith agreed to take over the reins on a temporary basis pending the appointment of a permanent Head Coach.
The playing squad has responded well in 2 friendlies against Division One opposition. A victory away at Myton Warriors and a narrow defeat at home to Skirlaugh has put something of a spring in their step.
The Head Coaching conundrum was solved only just last week with the appointment of Sam French who took charge of his first training session last Thursday. Trevor Penrose and Stu Smith will stay on to assist and ensure as smooth a transition as possible.
Sam French, whose job is in Rugby League working for the Hull FC community foundation, should bring a young and fresh approach to the job.
The team bus for players and supporters will depart for Leeds at 12 noon.
The ‘A’ team are also in action with a friendly at home to Methley Warriors on Saturday.
This match against the outfit from the South Eastern outskirts of Leeds will also be kicking off at 2.30pm at the Leisure Centre.
