Warm Welcome For New Woodmansey Local Store Owner

The new owner of Woodmansey Convenience Store Ltd has been given a warm welcome to the area following a personal letter drop to locals.

Liz Harvey, originally from Northampton, officially took the reins at the beginning of February after previous owners sold the business at the start of the year.

Located on Shopeth Way in Woodmansey, Liz has been getting to know her customers by finding out what additional offerings they’d like to see implemented now the store has been taken over by someone new.

Liz said:

“I’m delighted to be taking on Woodmansey Local and hope to bring a fresh new approach to the way the store is run, and what it offers to customers. We’ve been thinking about introducing a local deli, newspaper and essential deliveries, and have a few other ideas up our sleeves too.

“It’s got so much potential, and I’m wanting to make better use of the space to really bring the store into the heart of what is already a very close-knit community, as well as attracting new customers who travel between Hull and Beverley.

“The customers have been so welcoming and very patient with me as I settle in and learn the ropes. I’m excited for my new venture and also looking for some friendly faces to join the team, so make sure you get in touch!

Liz has been living in Beverley for seven years with her three children. She has extensive customer service expertise having worked in the hospitality sector for most of her life.

Liz also has a large customer base in Beverley and surrounding areas, having been a team leader at the well-known Beverley Arms Hotel & Restaurant, North Bar Within, and front of house at former independent café Perk-U-Later, Swaby’s Yard.

Woodmansey Local has been operational for three years and sits between popular hair and beauty salon, Aimee’s Hair Studio, and Square Star Pizza takeaway.

Aimee, Owner of Aimee’s Hair Studio commented:

“The change in ownership has been the hot topic for residents. Before we’d even met her it felt like she’d added that extra personal touch by posting letters through our doors to introduce herself. It’s clear she’s wanting to get to know the community and hear what more they’d like to get out of their local shop.

“When we saw that Liz was thinking of adding a deli, we were thrilled. The idea of having homemade sandwiches and scones on our doorstep has got everyone very excited!”

At the moment the store is open seven days a week from 8am – 8pm.

Vacancies are currently open for two sales assistants to join the team. For more information email info@woodmanseylocal.co.uk.
