Beverley Boosted By Return Of Veterans Calvert and Hart-Fisher

The Blue and Golds will be looking to get off the mark this Saturday when Normanton Knights are the visitors to the  Beverley Leisure Centre for a 2.30pm kick-off.

Their opponents from the West Riding town opened up their campaign with 22-10 victory at home to Wigan St Judes.

Gauging opponents post-pandemic can be tricky, but as a club, Normanton has been as high as the NCL Premier Division as recent as 2018, so they are clearly aiming to rise again.

Sam French’s first game in charge last weekend, saw a brave effort in the face of adversity by the youngsters, with perhaps inexperience the deciding factor.

The squad will be boosted by the return of Alex Calvert and Jake Hart-Fisher from holiday and work commitments.

There is a deserved return following a good performance in the ‘A’ team last weekend for Joe Vaudin and a debut is handed to Beau English on the wing. Lewis Miller and Bobby Howdle will miss out through injuries.
