Beverley Town Council is planning a party like never before, bringing the whole town together to celebrate the platinum jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen on Friday 3 June.
Beverley will entertain the masses with a programme of events memorable for the whole family.
The Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II is being celebrated in 2022 in the Commonwealth to mark the 70th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II on 6 February 1952.
There will be a four-day bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2 June to Sunday 5 June 2022, meaning Brits will be given two days off work to celebrate the Queen’s 70 years of service.
Cllr Denis Healy, leader of the Liberal Democrat group on Beverley Town Council said:
“Beverley really needs this after the difficulties of the last couple of years.
“Our entertainment will consist of two stages with music from throughout the decades she has reigned, entertainment for the children and a delight of food and drink from our local area.”
Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Will Have Something For Everyone
“We will even have a large screen so we can keep an eye on how Her Majesty is spending her monumental day.”
“So whether you want to hear the symphonic sounds of our orchestras in Saturday Market, chill out to the acoustic tunes and a cup of tea in Coronation Gardens or want an upbeat vibe over at Flemingate, we’ll do what we can to make sure the day is fit for a queen.”
“It will be the ABBA and Lady Gaga tribute acts where you will find me having a boogey, and a bit of Buddy Holly to start the morning at 10am at Flemingate.”
Many events and activities will be happening throughout the UK and beyond to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.
