In Bridlington on Sunday, 4 September, there will be a brand-new event which will be held for the first time, the Bridlington Beach 5k and Fun Run.
The deadline for the entries for the 5K has been extended to Thursday, August 4, so be sure to submit your entries as soon as possible.
A maximum of 300 runners will be allowed to participate in the event, which will take place entirely on the beach.
The event will include a fun run for children as well as those who are not interested in running the full 5k route.
There will be a fee of £2 per entrant for the fun run, and every participant will receive a medal as part of the event. In order to participate in the Fun Run, all you need to do is turn up on the day and turn up.
It is thought that this event will become a much-loved annual event in the resort, and there is an expectation that it will take place every year.
It has been organized by the Coastal Services team from East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Bridlington Road Runners and the Yorkshire Coast Business Improvement District.
Taking place at Bridlington Spa on the same day as Comic-Con, the event will be held in conjunction with Comic-Con. If you intend to participate in the 5k or Fun Run dressed as your favourite comic book hero, the Comic-Con judges will award the best-dressed prize.
Yorkshire Coast BID Say Bridlington Beach 5k Will Benefit Business
Martyn Coltman, Director, Yorkshire Coast Business Improvement District, said:
“It is fantastic to see so many participants already registered, as this is a great way to have fun with family and friends and raise money for charity. This is a great example of where outside events can complement other activities around the town for the benefit of the business community.”
The introductory price to enter the 5K will be £10 and all participants will receive a T-shirt and a medal.
