Local housebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, has donated £1,000 as part of its Community Fund initiative to Dove House Hospice, a charity that cares for people at the end of their lives, with life-limiting illnesses and local families who need bereavement support.
The chosen charity has been caring for patients for almost 40 years, offering support in a number of ways.
Whether they are people at the end of their lives or grieving families that require much-needed support, Dove House Hospice is committed to providing a space where families can spend precious time together in a quiet and peaceful setting, where memories can be made.
Additionally, the charity provides therapies to people dealing with terminal illnesses, improving their quality of life and supporting them with warmth, understanding and compassion from the point of diagnosis onwards.
With the help of the £1,000 donation from Barratt Developments Yorkshire East’s Community Fund, an initiative which aims to support the communities in which the housebuilder operates with a different chosen charity each month, further support will be offered to the Dove House Hospice team to support them in continuing to make a difference to the local people of Hull who need extra support in dealing with their illnesses.
Daniel Smith, Managing Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, commented: “Dove House Hospice do an amazing job in offering its support to those in need within the Hull area, and we’re so pleased to have been able to support them with our Community Fund donation. We hope that our donation will help to raise awareness of the vital work that the charity does, and help them to continue supporting local people and their families who need extra care.”
Dan Clipson, the Senior Fundraiser at Dove House Hospice, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to Barratt Developments Yorkshire East for this donation. The funds will help us to continue the special care we provide to those at the end of their life or with limiting illnesses. We can also continue to support the families of these people, providing much-needed bereavement services.”
