Liberal Democrats will be looking to make it three wins in a row later this month when residents living in the ward of  Beverley Rural go to the polls.

Recent results in Swandland and Bridlington saw the Liberal Democrats win seats from Conservatives. As a result, they are very optimistic the Liberal Democrats can also win in Beverley Rural.

Retired nurse Diana Stewart is standing for the Liberal Democrats. The Liberal Democrats say that so far feedback on the doorstep has been very positive.

Cllr Denis Healy is supporting Diana and urging residents to do the same. He wants them to get behind their local candidate.

Speaking to HU17.net Cllr Denis Healy said;

“People in East Yorkshire are finally realising there is a real alternative to the Conservatives. Residents are waking up to the fact it does not have to be one way.”

“This is being reflected in results locally and nationally as the Liberal Democrats continue to take seats from the Conservatives.”

“Voters are telling us they have had enough of the antics of Boris Johnson and want real change so are turning to us.”

Liberal Democrats Diana Stewart Offers Residents A Real Choice And Alternative

Cllr Healy feels the Liberals have a first-class candidate in Diana. He said;

“Diana is a wonderful lady who has lived in the ward for forty years. She is also the only candidate on the ballot paper who lives in the area.”

“Diana is involved with the local parish council and certainly has a good understanding of the issues residents face. If elected would Diana would be a real champion of people and an asset to those living villages that surround Beverley.”

“I think it is fair to say this is a two-horse race between the Conservatives and the LibDems, Labour really can not win here.”

Residents will get to have the final say at the by-election being held on 25 August.  In all, there will be three candidates on the ballot paper for people to choose from.

Candidates Standing;

Diana Stewart – Libdem
Claire Wildey – The Labour Party
Peter Stevens – The Conservative Party
