Next month, Beverley Art Gallery will host the 23rd Open Art Exhibition which will be held in the gallery. The exhibition is due to run from 24th September 2022 until 7th January 2023.
There will be no admission fee for this exhibition. The gallery’s associates are enthusiastic about the return of the gallery to its former glory.
Open Art is back at the Art Gallery after an enforced break since 2019. This was as a result of the COVID pandemic. Organisers of the event say that it is something that all participants and visitors alike always enjoy the open art show.
Interested parties are invited to enter the exhibition between Thursday, 25 August and Thursday, 1 September (closed Monday, 29 August for Bank Holiday). Candidates should read the Conditions of Entry before submitting their work.
There will be a selection process on Tuesday, 2 September. The selection committee this year is made up of Neil Helyard and Mimi Claughton, both established artists and tutors of Beverley.
You can find out whether your work has been selected by calling the Gallery on 01482 392782 on 5, 6 or 7 September.
There will be an exhibition launch on 24 September from 1pm to 3pm, open to all entrants, regardless of selection.
Museums and Archives Manager Nial Adams says he is thrilled that the exhibition is returning. He said;
“I am thrilled that Beverley Art Gallery will be hosting another Open Art exhibition – it’s always wonderful to see the amazing talent we have in the region.
“I am very excited to see this year’s entries and would like to extend my thanks in advance to all the artists submitting their work – I cannot wait to see the walls of Beverley Art Gallery coming alive with their art.”
