Beverley Fun Fest is just days away and those behind the event have confirmed some of what you can expect on the day.
Organisers hope that the event which is specifically geared towards young people will help show what opportunities are out there.
All the stops have been pulled out to ensure there is something for everyone. They have secured personalities and a host of activities.
Humberside Police in conjunction with Beverley Joint Youth Partnership has created the event. They hope that young people will really love it.
While more importantly have some positive engagement with emergency services and feel inspired, meet role models and gain career aspirations.
Jo Ramsey, from the Cherry Tree Centre who will have youth workers on-site at the event said;
“The Cherry Tree Centre is delighted to be involved in such a positive event.”
“We are fully committed to helping the young people in this town and also play our part in shining a light on the opportunities there are for them.”
“A lot of effort has gone into the event to ensure that as many topics are covered. Be it careers advice to general health and well-being.”
So what can those who go expect to find at Beverley Fun Fest? Here are some of the highlights.
Olympian world championship boxer, Luke Campbell, will be on hand to engage and play with the young people, as well as take photos with them.
TV personality Marylise Corrigan will also be at the event. She will be the model for Daisy’s Beauty Box for a make-up demonstration. It will also include tips and advice relating to cosmetics.
There will be face painting, henna tattoos, and creative arts sessions conducted by Millie Rose of Fantastic Faces. While for the more active the British Army will be on-site putting people through their paces on the obstacle course.
Local police will be looking to highlight the opportunities there are for women in the force with their ‘Females in Specialist Ops.’ They will be bringing PSU kit and equipment including rammits.
The event is being held at the Beverley Leisure Centre on Thursday 1 September 2022 from 2.30PM and is free to attend.
