The popular ‘Brick City’ Exhibition created by Warren Elsmore will be on display at Beverley Art Gallery for one more week. Saturday, 10 September, will be the last day of the exhibition. It will close at 3.45PM.
It has been a hot spot for visitors to the Treasure House on Champney Road where iconic buildings from around the world have been meticulously recreated in LEGO® bricks.
Visitors have the opportunity to take a world tour covering cities on five continents, ranging from the lively celebrations of Rio through to New York, Copenhagen, romantic Venice, Japan, and extravagant Las Vegas.
This exhibition offers an opportunity to discover some of the most iconic structures in our cities, as well as some new urban highlights.
There are surprising similarities between buildings built thousands of years apart, such as the Roman Colosseum and the 2012 London Olympic Park.
Brick City Will Close On 10 September
Visitors can also see the awe-inspiring centrepiece, London St Pancras Station, built with over 180,000 standard bricks and measuring two meters by four metres. Creating the model of St Pancras alone required 300 man-hours.
There is no need to book in advance for the event, as admission is free.
The Treasure House is also hosting a Minifig-a-gram competition until 10 September for younger visitors. It’s a chance to hunt around the Treasure House Museum for LEGO Minifigures hidden in the exhibits. There is a letter on the back of each Minifigure.
Also, there are some letters tucked away in the marvellous LEGO Brick models on display of historic Beverley landmarks. As a prize, visitors could win a fabulous LEGO City set by collecting all the letters to make the two winning words.
You can access the Trail during the normal opening hours of the Treasure House.
