An application round for the Community Safety Fund, launched by Police and Crime Commissioner Jonathan Evison in May, has now opened.
Providing support for victims of crime and crime reduction projects are part of the Community Safety Fund’s mission.
The program aims to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and improve residents’ sense of safety through the launch of local projects.
Non-profit and charity organizations, charities, community groups, and social enterprises can apply for grants between £500 and £35,000 through the fund, which is open to Town and Parish Councils, too.
An example of a project would be:
- Measures to improve the safety of outdoor public spaces, community buildings or assets.
- Activities and support for groups of people who may be particularly at risk of becoming victims of crime, or have previously been victims.
- Activities and support for groups of people who may be at risk of being drawn into criminal behaviour.
- Community events and activities with a focus on crime and safety issues.
PCC Looking Forward To New Applicants Of Community Safety Fund Applications
Jonathan said:
“We had an excellent response to Round One of the funding programme with some outstanding project ideas coming forward and we are now progressing those that were shortlisted to the contract stage.”
“I’m looking forward to receiving the next round of applications so we can work with communities to cut crime and anti-social behaviour and make our neighbourhoods safer.”
