East Yorkshire To Host Land Sand Stone Art Festival

For the first time in three years, the Land Sand Stone Art Festival returns to Bridlington. The event will certainly provide a unique celebration of the coastline.

Organised by Responsible Fishing UK in association with Visit East Yorkshire, the festival runs from Saturday, 10 to Sunday, 11 September.

East Yorkshire’s stunning coastline and artists from all over the UK will inspire a unique celebration of creativity.

Sand & stones will be the theme of the first day, Saturday, 10 September. While the family beach art challenge and an artist’s showcase will transform Bridlington’s north beach.

Among the artists participating in an Open Stone Art Session will be James Brunt, Julia Brooklyn, Sean Corcoran, James Craig Page, Jon Foreman, Mark Antony Haden Ford, Tim Pugh, Richard Shilling, Laurence Winram and more.

The beach will be a source of inspiration for visitors as they watch artists create new works and get tips on creating temporary art in nature.

Land will be the theme of the day on Sunday, 11 September, and Sewerby Hall and Gardens will be the venue. There are a number of activities available in the Gardens, such as woodland art trails, land art pick n mix and workshops.

Land Sand Stone Art Festival Will Bring Together Best Artists

In a statement, James Brunt, of Responsible Fishing, said:  

“Land Sand Stone brings together some of the best Land Artists from across the UK and Europe, for a unique festival celebrating the Bridlington Coastline.”

“Throughout the festival, the artists will be creating beautiful work. They will also be leading demonstrations and workshops and temporarily transforming the landscape as you know it.

“Organisers from Responsible Fishing UK have been overwhelmed by the response to the festival from the land art community. We are thrilled to be welcoming many artists to Bridlington from as far afield as Portugal and The Netherlands.”
