In the UK, National Fitness Day is an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of physical activity in leading healthier lifestyles.
Keeping active and exercising is vital for everyone, and East Riding Leisure wants to share customers’ stories.
As part of their social media/YouTube campaign, they will present a range of online classes taught by their instructors and available to all on 21 September.
Simply comment on any East Riding Leisure Fitness Day posts by using the hashtag #FITNESSDAY by 21 September.
This year’s membership prize will be awarded to the most inspirational story. Winners will be announced by 28 September.
A statement released by Councillor Mike Medini said:
“Share with us your story of what fitness means to you – maybe you have just started your fitness journey? Or perhaps you want to inspire others? Either way, we want to hear from you!
“Physical activity has the ability to bring people together and to positively impact on all of our physical, mental and social wellbeing, and is for all ages and backgrounds – fitness is for everyone!”
It is not possible to exchange the prize for cash. A year’s payment holiday will be granted to entrants who are already members. It is not possible to transfer membership.
Over 22 million people across the UK took part in National Fitness Day last year, including 11.4 million children.
National Fitness Day this year aims to get a record number of children, youth, and families active.
The goal is to get the nation moving together by celebrating the fun of fitness and helping us make it a national pastime.
