Retford Head To East Yorkshire As They Face Beverley In NCL

Retford FC will head to East Yorkshire this Saturday as they take on Beverley Town in Northern Counties League Divison 1.

This will be the first home match to be played on a Saturday for Beverley since they made the step up into NCL.

Ahead of the game, Beverley Town will hold a minute’s silence as a mark of respect for the Queen.

Beverley Town is currently five points a drift of the visitors in the table however Retford FC has played two more games than their hosts.

Retford will arrive at the Norwood Recreation Ground in a confident mood. They managed to find the back of the net in each of their league games this season.

Beverley Town will also go into the game looking for what would be their first home win of the season. They will aim to make it back-to-back wins having beaten Worsbrough Bridge Athletic 3-0 last time out in the cup.

Beverley’s manager Dave Ricardo knows that Retford will be no pushover. He says his team will face one of the most experienced sides in the league. While he adds they pose a real threat from set pieces.

Retford FC Will Be No Push Over

He said;

“Retford are a well drilled and very disciplined side. They have a loyal captain in Liam Bennett and also have one of the most experienced keepers in Jon Kennedy.”

“For us to get something out of this game we have to defend well and do our job individually and as a team.”

“We have not had the best start at home, but we have one of the best away records in the league. We will approach Saturday looking for a win and play two up top. When possible we will aim to get bodies forward when we can and take the game to them.”

“Our squad is in good shape and a positive result on Saturday will allow us to kick on.”

Beverley Town and Retford will kick off at 3PM.
