Beverley RUFC coach Craig Hancock has praised his side after their win which saw them move to the top of the table. It was the perfect result for the club on a historic day at Beaver Park.

Visitors Dinnington RFC suffered a heavy defeat in the East Yorkshire sunshine by a rampant Beverley team losing 80-7.

It means Beverley is the only unbeaten side in the league and also has a 100pc record after three games.

Speaking to HU17.net Hancock said;

“This was a comprehensive performance as the scoreline clearly suggests and one that I feel has been coming for weeks.”

“Not only did we put a lot of points on the board we also manage to restrict our opponents to just one score.”

“Every single player from one to eighteen played really well. Not one single player had a bad game and everything just clicked for us.”

“I am obviously very proud of the team and was exceptionally pleased with the performance all the players put in.”

Hancock Feels Squad Is In A Good Place

Hancock says that the squad is in a good place right now. He added that while they were missing some key players they were able to make positive changes.

He said;

“Competiton for places in the team is very strong at the moment. Supporters got to see first hand just how much quality we have and how that is translating into results.”

“Going into this match we were missing Luke Hazel who is a key player for us.  Jake Boardman moved to the fullback position and bossed it. He is a quality versatile player who brings a lot to the team.”

“Not only did he play really well he scored two tries and fully deserved his man of the match award.”

“The goal now is to carry that same form and also the same attitude into next week’s derby with Goole. We know this will be a much different game because even so early in the season there is a lot at stake.”
