“There is a sense of relief on a personal level to get that first home win. There has been a big desire to get that first home win.”
“I think from the player’s point of view they just wanted to please the fans as they have been fully aware they have backed us from the off. This is a group of players that care.”
Glasshoughton Came Looking For All Three Points Says Beverley Town Manager
Olly Baldwin scored a wordly in the game as he latched onto a cross to volly home. Ricaro added;
“It was a fantastic well worked move, which was matched by a superbly taken finish, it really was a great finish. To date that is certainly the best goal I have seen this season either by or against us.”
Glasshoughton started well, it was clear they had come to Norwood looking for all three points.
Commenting on the game Ricardo said;
“We knew they gained they had their first win away on Saturday and we also knew they had a number of attacking players. When in possession they played a 4-2-4 which meant we had to get a grip on the game.”
“Our keeper made a fantastic save in the early stages. After the first goal went in that gave us an opportunity to settle into the match. The second goal followed quickly and after the third we were in full control.”
“During the break we stressed to the lads to be aware and that the job was not done. Glasshoughton threw so many players forward in the second half. So we had to be mindful that they could come back and draw or even win.”
“Now we have gained that first home win I hope to see a more relaxed and also confident unit including myself.”
Beverley’s manager also paid tribute to the support the club got. There was a big crowd showed up to support the team. Ricardo said;
“Again this was a testament to the town that so many turned up last night to back the team. It makes a huge difference to the club and the players. We allwant to thank them for their support”
