As a result of recruitment struggles across the bus sector, a company that provides transport in Beverley and the surrounding area, East Yorkshire, will temporarily alter some of its services starting Sunday 23 October.
There has been a protracted recruitment problem faced by many bus operators, including other local operators, due to a variety of factors.
The company will make changes to the timetables of Services 54, 56, 57, 66, 104, 105 and 154 in an effort to improve reliability while focusing on driver recruitment.
A statement from East Yorkshire’s Managing Director, Ben Gilligan, said:
“Like many bus companies across the UK, we are seeing a challenging recruitment market on the back of record low employment and high vacancy rates.”
“We are working hard to address this, but to provide a more predictable service for our customers, we need to make some temporary changes to our timetables.”
“We are sorry for the recent disruption that our customers have faced, and appreciate their patience with our hard-working front-line staff who have had a difficult time in recent weeks.”
East Yorkshire Buses’ new timetables are available online at eastyorkshirebuses.co.uk, as well as on the East Yorkshire Buses app.
