Libraries in East Yorkshire, including Beverley, will be hosting a series of free events later this month.
Aimed at young children, the events will take place across the region during the half-term holidays.
The host of fun Storytime events and activities is being organised by East Riding Libraries.
They are free to attend. Booking is required and advised for those who are interested in going.
East Riding libraries and multi-service centres will host the events from Tuesday, October 18 to Saturday, October 29.
In a statement a spokesperson for the East Riding of Yorkshire said:
“Storytimes are a fantastic way for families to spend their half term together at these ever-popular events and sessions.”
“They vary for different ages, so children of all ages can get stuck in with the fun craft activities on offer – with a little help from family members.”
Events Will Take Place In Beverley At The Local Library
In Beverley, you can celebrate Halloween with their special double storytime. Bumps in the Night and It was a Cold, Dark Night.
The book A Cold Dark Night will be read to children aged three and under. It tells the story of Ned the Hedgehog who is looking for a home in a forest and needs somewhere safe to sleep.
While Bumps in the Night will be read to children aged four to eight at various library locations. The book is part of Allan Ahlberg’s iconic Funnybones series about skeletons.
Even though it takes place in a dark house, this brightly coloured book is perfect for young children.
In both of these events, you will have a great time making crafts, searching for missing items in the library, and having lots of fun.
This is a free event to be held on Saturday, 29 October from 11Am and will be finished just before midday.
Residents are invited to come along and enjoy the story and also the fun activities as well. Pre-booking is required for this event. This can be done at Beverley Library in person or by calling 01482 392750.
