In its first conference for over 15 years, Ellesmere Counselling and Psychotherapy Training is proud to announce that it has now sold out.
Staff and students from ECPT have developed and created Humber Counselling and Psychotherapy Conference, which will be held on 22 October at the Humber View Hotel in North Ferriby.
There have been double the number of ticket sales as expected for the conference, which brings together the counselling, psychotherapy, and mental health communities.
It is due to the excitement surrounding the speakers, including Dr Mark Widdowson, Leilani Mitchell of The Link Centre, Janine Piccirella of Becoming Ubuntu, and Frances Townsend of the Berne Institute.
In addition to attracting delegates from Hull and Humber, the reputation of ECPT in the national psychotherapy community has also attracted delegates from other parts of the UK.
As a result of their sponsorship and ongoing support, ECPT would like to thank Space2BHeard, TherapyRecord.online, Isosconnect, Chris Mitchell Coaching, and Talking Works.
ECPT has been providing training, consultation, and supervision for more than 15 years. The ECPT provides therapeutic space, facilities, and clinical services in partnership with Space2Beard CIC, as well as training and accrediting many counsellors and psychotherapists in the surrounding area, many of whom are now employed by S2BH, private practice, the NHS or in other mental health settings.
ECPT Trainer and Head of the conference committee Gemma Wardell said:
“We are delighted to be hosting what we hope will be the first of many conferences in the Humber region. Ticket sales have surpassed what we imagined when we first set out on this journey, and we are looking forward to seeing close to 100 delegates from across the UK.”
It will explore how therapists’ work impacts a world that faces many challenges and changes in a conference titled Whole and Hurting in a Troubled World in 2022. Anita Holland will give the closing speech, while Barbara Clarkson will give the keynote speech.
Additionally, two ECPT students, Stephen Morgan and Corrine Fawcett designed and delivered workshops as part of the conference’s workshop program on their special interests.
Gemma added:
“The conference is an ideal opportunity for students, mental health professionals, and industry leaders to come together for the day to discuss ideas and develop theory and practice.”
“We are delighted that we have been able to include some of our own students in the workshop offerings as well as more established names in the psychotherapy world.”
“ECPT are all about supporting mental health professionals from the very beginning and we expect to see a huge range of people from the sector joining us for the conference.”
