To protect our communities and achieve justice for victims, officers across the force work tirelessly behind the scenes to identify and locate those wanted for crimes.

During the next ten days, our proactive Operation Galaxy team will ramp up their work carried out in our local communities, to ensure those who commit crimes are held accountable.

In 2019, Operation Galaxy was launched by detectives, officers, and staff from the Departments of Major Crime, Roads Policing, Intelligence, Dogs and Handlers, Economic Crime, and various others, all working together to target criminals who are causing the greatest harm to our communities from all angles.

The team will begin targeting suspects involved in a variety of crimes on Monday 14 November, including organised crime, drug-related crimes, violent crimes, robberies, burglaries, and antisocial behaviour.

They will also be carrying out warrants throughout Humberside, arresting suspects and seizing illegal items such as drugs, weapons and cash.

Further, they will work with local authorities to identify and protect vulnerable people in our communities and disrupt and dismantle organised crime groups that target young people through county lines and drug offences

Chief Superintendent Christine Wilson who is leading the operation said: “Operation Galaxy has been instrumental in disrupting those committing criminality across our region for just over three years.

“Over the course of the next ten days, no stone will be left unturned by the team and we will be making the lives of criminals very uncomfortable.

“Our message is very clear to those involved in criminality; your actions will not be tolerated and we will find you and ensure you are held accountable for your crimes.

“Throughout the ten-day period, our local communities can expect to see an increased presence from our uniformed and plain-clothed officers, particularly in areas where crime rates and antisocial behaviour incidents are more prevalent.

“Our Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPT) will also be highly visible in their local communities, engaging with residents and listening to concerns, as well as providing updates on the work we are doing to make your communities safer.

“We will always do everything we possibly can to identify and arrest those who have committed crimes across the Humberside force area, to ensure our residents feel safe and protected and justice is achieved for any victim of crime.”
