It’s Christmas time, and Libraries in East Yorkshire, including Beverley, have just the thing to get young residents in the festive spirit.

Storytimes and Bounce & Rhymes are coming up at East Riding Libraries with the wonderful ‘What the Ladybird Heard at Christmas’ and ‘Peppa and the Christmas Elf’.

Can Peppa’s wish to meet a Christmas elf come true, and will the cleverest ladybird save Christmas from sneaky stocking thieves?

Throughout the Christmas holidays, these free events offer themed activities for children.

Librarian Hannah Gibbs said: “We just love a themed Storytime and can’t wait to share some Christmas cheer with these fantastic stories and activities.

‘What the Ladybird Heard’ has always been a particular favourite of ours, so we are really excited to be showcasing the new Christmas version with our littlest library-lovers, and of course everyone’s favourite pig, Peppa, is always a hit too!”

Councillor , portfolio holder for culture, leisure, libraries, and customer services, added: “Our school holiday Storytimes and Bounce & Rhyme sessions are always hugely popular, and our libraries team always look forward to running them, and especially at Christmas! They are a great way to keep little ones entertained during the festive season.”

Sessions will run at Flamborough Library until Friday, 23 December, beginning on Monday, 5 December at Hub. There are some events that require advance booking.
