The tickets for the 7th annual Stage4Beverley festival are already selling fast, with the opening night on Wednesday 15 February with Bob Harris in conversation with Martyn Joseph almost sold out.
In addition to internationally renowned musicians, the festival also features local and emerging talent, poets and comedians.
The multi-award-winning singer Lauren Housley is back with her trio after her stunning performance at the 2022 festival, and another welcome return is of poet, comedian and musician, John Hegley described by The Statesmen as “…one of the funniest men alive….” and by The Independent as “Awesomely mundane”!
As a result of the abundance of highly talented young musicians in our community today, Rusty Shackle will be performing for the first time at the event with their unique folk-roots sound, which includes rampant fiddle, slick guitar, banjo hooks, drums, and bass.
Once again, Yorkshire has shown us how talented it can be. The festival will feature performances by Mishra, a global folk collective bringing Indian-influenced original music, and Georgie Bucanan, a singer and harpist from the contemporary folk scene. Leeds Conservatoire is one of the leading colleges for music study in the country, and we are pleased to welcome four of its most talented young musicians.
The Men of Staithes Choir (formerly the Staithes Fishermen’s Choir) will be returning to Beverley with their fishermen’s hymns and sacred songs of North Yorkshire. They will be performing these in a new venue for 2023, Toll Gavel United Church, alongside the Georgie Bucanan trio.
Gary Stewart will perform his “Graceland” project for our finale concert on Sunday 19th.
As well as the Festival Curtain Raiser, a poetry workshop and performances; and the festival’s ever popular Late Night Clubs, the festival is set to brighten up those dark, cold days in February.
There’s no better way to celebrate Christmas than with tickets to this wildly popular Mid Winter event!
