Homebuilder Is Reporting Significant Contributions To The Yorkshire Community

In the past year, Barratt Developments Yorkshire East has reported significant social, economic, and environmental contributions to the Yorkshire communities that it builds in. Accordingly, East Riding of Yorkshire is included in this, based on the development of the region.

Through its own business and those of its suppliers and subcontractors in 2022, the homebuilder built 762 new homes across the region, supporting 1,742 jobs.

An investment of £13.3 million in physical infrastructure works, including environmental and highway improvements, affordable housing, and improved community facilities, supported this boost to the local housing market and construction industry.

During an especially challenging year, Barratt Developments Yorkshire made over £64,000 of charitable donations to support those in need in addition to investing £2.3 million in community infrastructure.

Also in 2022, the homebuilder committed to creating homes for people and nature. To promote wildlife on and around its sites, the company created 11.9 hectares of green space across the region.

Barratt Developments’ commitment to environmental sustainability also resulted in a reduction in CO2 emissions of 37% against its 2018 benchmark and a reduction in construction waste of 42%.

Daniel Smith, Managing Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, said:

“The statistics we’re able to report from the past year truly demonstrate our dedication to supporting Yorkshire’s people, environment and economy.

As a five-star homebuilder, we’re proud to be leading the way in a sustainable building across the region. We are thrilled to end 2022 having made such a positive contribution to the region, and are looking forward to building on these results in 2023.”

In the East Riding of Yorkshire, Barratt Developments, which includes Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, has a number of developments, including Harrier Chase in Brough, Harland Park and Poppy Fields in Cottingham, Minster View and Queens Court in Beverley, and Hesslewood Park and Fleet Green in Hessle.
