Western Docklands Masterplan Consultations Are Now Open

Western Docklands Masterplan public consultation is underway for six weeks.

Last month, Hull City Council’s Cabinet backed the masterplan, which suggests a range of different uses, with an emphasis on employment land to the west and residential/commercial and leisure land to the east.

Hull residents and local businesses are now being asked for their opinions.

There are three parts of Western Docklands: Albert Dock, William Wright Dock, and Castle Street.

A consultation on the future of the Hull Ice Arena and Kingston Retail Park will run until Friday 17 March.

Moreover, the masterplan proposes improving the connection between the marina and Fruit Market.

In-person drop-in sessions and an online survey are being offered to local businesses, residents and the general public.

The Western Docklands Masterplan poster will be placed in various locations in Hull, along with a QR code for online consultation.

The council will consider any responses to this consultation when drafting a final version of the masterplan, which will be presented to Cabinet later this year.

The public can participate in forums and interactive maps, plus see more information online.

There will be drop-in sessions at Hull Ice Arena from 4pm-7pm on Wednesday 8 February, and from 11am-4pm on Saturday 18 February.

At the same venue, a drop-in session for business will be held from 4-7pm on Thursday 16 February.
