East Yorkshire Buses has announced that the Moors Explorer ME1 service will return in summer 2023 with a brand-new route.

On Sundays and bank holidays until 28 August, the new route will travel from Hessle, Hull & Beverley to Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley, with a stop at Flamingo Land Resort – so everyone can have a good time, whether they prefer a quiet walk in the Moors or a theme park and zoo.

Get on board at Hessle Square (08:30), Willerby Square (08:42), Hull Interchange (09:00), Hull University (09:11), Cottingham Green (09:18) and Beverley Bus Station (09:35) to pack your Sunday with adventure. Even better, you can hop off and explore Pickering, Kirkbymoorside & Helmsley for a few hours before the last bus home.

From Bainton onwards, Moors Rover tickets are available for £9.80 per adult, £2.50 per child, or £15.00 per family of up to four people. You can buy your ticket on the bus via cash or contactless payment – or you can download the East Yorkshire Buses app for £14.85 for a child and £14.85 for an adult, giving you unlimited travel across the network. Tickets for families and concessions are also available at a discount.

Stuart Fillingham, East Yorkshire’s Head of Commercial, said: “We’ve tweaked this service this year to help families in Hull and the East Riding get more out of their travels this summer. Fabulous upper-deck views, plus a day out at Flamingo Land – what’s not to love?”

You can find out more, or plan your journey by heading to eastyorkshirebuses.co.uk, by downloading the East Yorkshire Buses app, or by heading to Hull Interchange’s Travel Centre and speaking to a member of the team.
