The Festival of Christmas is returning to the East Yorkshire Market Town of Beverley for five days of festive activities.
In its 27th year, the festival is sponsored by The Beverley Arms, a member of the Daniel Thwaites hospitality group.
More than 120 stalls filled with Christmas gifts and local treats take over the historic market town of Beverley every year on the second Sunday in December.
Visitors from all over the UK flock to the East Riding to experience fine Christmas food, drink, and crafts.
This year’s event will take place on Sunday, 10 December, from 10am to 4pm, including Saturday Market, North Bar Within and Wednesday Market, with links to Flemingate Shopping Centre.
Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market will also return in the days leading up to the festival.
This year’s Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market, which is also sponsored by the Beverley Arms, will showcase some of the finest produce from local businesses.
There will be festive entertainment and activities planned for Wednesday, 6 December, through Friday, 8 December, in Saturday Market.
Christmas will also be the theme of the Saturday Market on 9 December.
In advance of Beverley Festival of Christmas and Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market, details of planned entertainment, travel information, park and rides, and road closures will be announced.
Councillor Nick Coultish, portfolio holder for economic development and tourism at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “Beverley Festival of Christmas is one of the flagship events for our region and is an important date in the calendar for our high street businesses.
“It is always a hugely popular event, with visitors from all over the UK coming to enjoy the festive stalls and entertainment. I’m sure it will be popular again this year and we look forward to welcoming residents and visitors as we get into the festive spirit in preparation for Christmas.
“It is also terrific that the Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market will be returning to Beverley for its third year. The market is a fantastic addition to a truly joyful time of the year and extends Beverley’s Christmas markets to five days.”
Danny Martin, Marketing Director at Daniel Thwaites, said: “It continues to be an honour for The Beverley Arms to be so heavily involved with bringing the Festival of Christmas to life in Beverley. It marks the start of the festive season and is a true highlight in the Christmas calendar for so many.
“We’re incredibly thankful to everyone in the local community who continues to back all of the town’s incredible businesses throughout the year – including our own – so we’re happy to see this popular event return to the town again and are proud to extend a hand of support.”
