Beverley Racecourse Has Lots To Offer In 2024

Beverley enjoyed a memorable 2023 Flat season and 2024 promises to offer more of the same at one of the country’s best racecourses.

The track is scheduled to stage 19 fixtures in 2024. The opening meeting is set for Wednesday 17th April, with the finale pencilled in for Tuesday 24th September.

Throughout the season, there will be a variety of themed race days that will cater for all age groups and there will be plenty to enjoy no matter your level of interest in horse racing.

Experience Beverley as a racehorse owner

One way to enjoy a day at Beverley racecourse in 2024 is to go as an owner. With Christmas just around the corner, a shares in a racehorse gift could be a great present for someone you know who loves horse racing and would enjoy the opportunity to experience being an owner. At Beverley, that experience would see you allowed to enter the paddock before and after the race in which you have a runner, providing you have an owner’s badge. If your horse also wins, you will be presented with a trophy, invited for a glass of champagne, and get a photograph and recording of your race.

Beverley has plenty to offer even if you are not an owner, including its annual Ladies Day, which offers prizes for the most stylish racegoers, and three family fun days throughout the year.

Other themed race days planned for 2024 include the Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival in late July, which takes in several courses across the county to celebrate Yorkshire racing. It is also an opportunity to see the jockeys in a different environment before the racing starts when they are given the chance to show off their football skills in a penalty shoot-out style competition.

While Beverley has a tremendous amount to offer off the track, whether you are an owner or just going for a day out, the quality on the course should also not be overlooked.

The Very British Raceday in early June and the Beverley Bullet day at the end of August are the two meetings that will likely welcome some top-class horses to the course.

High-class action on offer

The Two-Year-Old Trophy and Hilary Needler are staged at the June meeting and can often provide clues for Royal Ascot later the same month. Those two races are for two-year-olds and have been won by some high-class horses through the years.

The Beverley Bullet and Looking Ahead

Attraction was arguably the best winner of the Hilary Needler after following up her 2003 success by winning the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot a couple of weeks later. The following year, she also won the English and Irish 1000 Guineas. The Ridler, meanwhile, won the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2022 after running in the Two-Year-Old Trophy.

The Beverley Bullet, meanwhile, is run over five furlongs and features some of the fastest horses in the country. Since its inception in 2004, three horses have won the race twice and it is a contest that has produced subsequent Group One winners.

With such quality entertainment and action anticipated on and off the track, 2024 will again see Beverley showcase what it has to offer to both the local and horse racing community.
