In a Yorkshire Wolds village, preparations are underway for the annual produce show.

Londesborough’s 77th Annual Produce Show takes place on Saturday, 20th July, at the Concert Hall.

Graeme Stephenson chairs the show’s committee, which offers 99 classes to residents of , Londesborough, Shiptonthorpe, Burnby, Nunburnholme, Hayton, Goodmanham, and Warter.

“It’s a popular show and is an important event in the village calendar. We have classes for everything from fruit and veg through flowers, cookery and preserves to handicrafts and children’s classes. This year we are opening it up to people who live in Market Weighton, so we’re looking forward to receiving lots of entries,” said Mr Stephenson.

Entry fees for the adult classes are 50p, and for the children’s classes are 10p. Members of the public can view entries at the Concert Hall from 2 p.m., with entries due at 11 a.m. There is a £1.50 entrance fee, and children are admitted free of charge. Market Weighton’s Rustik Lounge will be serving refreshments as well as a bring-and-buy stall and raffle.

A special thank you goes out to the cup sponsors: Leakes Butchers, Mouse House Floral Designs, Free Spirit Flowers, The Fiddle Drill, Wolds Inn, Coffee, Cake, Create, Wyngarth Graphics, three60 marketing and pr, and MW Farm Supplies.
