The Defence School of Transport (DST) have recently unveiled a brand-new Simulator Suite at Normandy Barracks, Leconfield.

This landmark event was attended by Air Commodore Crawford CBE, Commandant of the Air & Space Warfare Centre, highlighting the significant advancement in modern driver training methodologies.

The unveiling of four Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) simulators marked a pivotal moment in the modernisation of driver training at DST. These state-of-the-art simulators, tailored specifically to the UK road systems and military tactical applications, exemplified the amalgamation of and innovation in training methodologies.

Powered by Technology Enhanced Learning, the LANDER Simulator Suite serve as a versatile platform for conducting various trials and experiments. From Licence Acquisition to tactical transport operations, these simulators encompass every facet of the driving ecosystem. DST’s instructors are able to challenge existing norms, optimise training opportunities, and expand the horizons of a student’s development while mitigating potential threats and providing unparalleled training opportunities.
