Wold Escapes, near Driffield, were delighted to win ‘Remarkable Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year’ at this year’s REYTA awards.
The glamping site just outside the village of Southburn, has seen expansion in the last two years and is now home to seven glamping cabins all with hot tubs overlooking views of the Yorkshire Wolds and their wildflower meadow.
The site has recently invested in air source heating as well as solar to increase their sustainability.
Judges noted the peace and tranquillity of the site and the level of sophistication of the cabins.
Georgina Renfrew, Wold Escapes Household Manager, said: “We are thrilled to win this award! We are a small team, and everyone has worked incredibly hard building the site into what it is today”.
The Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism awards are organised by Visit Hull and East Yorkshire and have been running for 14 years recognising the quality of businesses and the individuals who work within them. The awards ceremony was held at Bridlington Spa on Thursday 14th November where guests enjoyed a three-course meal, dinner and dancing.
Wold Escapes will now be put forward to the National VisitEngland awards which will be announced in June 2025.
