Beverley Theatre Company (BTC) are pleased to announce that their next production will be the stage version of the classic BBC comedy series, The Good Life, adapted by Jeremy Sams and based on the scripts by John Esmonde and Bob Larbey.
When Tom and Barbara Good decide to exchange the pressures of the rat race for an alternative, more sustainable way of living, they set about turning their suburban home in Surbiton into a model of self-sufficiency. They grow their own fruit and veg, keep livestock in the garden, make their own clothes, and even generate their own electricity from manure. It’s the good life for them – but not for Margo and Jerry Leadbetter, who live next door and are desperately trying to maintain the Surbiton status quo.
The play marks the directorial debut for BTC of Steph Jordan, ably assisted by Emma Walker.
The cast includes many familiar faces, with Tony Musgrave, Helen Wild, Colin Walls, Kay Slater and Sam Kneeshaw being joined by returnees Saira Sunderji and Tom Costen, with debuts from Emma Owen, Emma Walker, Joan Sanders and Gal Landey.
The play will be performed with the kind permission of Nick Hern Books, from Wednesday 30th April to Saturday 3rd May at the Beverley Memorial Hall, Lairgate, Beverley, with a licensed bar. Curtain up at 7.30.
Tickets are priced at £10 and can be purchased either
